Help:Using the ACS Page Creator

From Agentpedia, the Microsoft Agent encyclopedia

If you would like to make a character article but are new to MediaWiki-editing (or would like to generate an article to use a base for future editing), you may use the ACS Page Creator to automatically generate a short description, an infobox, an article lead, a character data table, a gallery, and a trivia section.

Functionality

To use the ACS Page Creator, simply fill out the fields to the best of your knowledge, as the article will be created as a stub (if the article is genuinely complete, you may remove the incomplete template afterward).

Fields

  • Page Title - The title of the page, which should be the name of the character.
  • ACS name - The full name of the ACS file.
  • Developer - The company or individual who developed the character.
  • Released - The release year or date the character was released.
  • Logo file - Any file without the file prefix as it will handle this for you.
  • Screenshot file - Any file without the file prefix as it will handle this for you. Must be the default frame of the character.
  • Appearance - A quick one line description that follows the lead. In Peedy's case for example, it is "His appearance is a parrot with green feathers."
  • Description - The character description for the character from the Microsoft Agent Properties Viewer.
  • Extra data - The extra data for the character from the Microsoft Agent Properties Viewer.
  • Animation Count - The animation count.
  • TTS voice - The TTS voice.
  • Download URL - A link to a direct-download URL (no prompts like MediaFire or Google Drive).
  • File name - The full name of the ACS file (due to template differences in handling file names).
  • File size - Size of the file.
  • GUID - The GUID of the character.
  • TTSMode ID - The TTSMode ID of the character.
  • TTS speed - The TTS speed of the character.
  • TTS pitch - The TTS pitch of the character.
  • Width - The width of the character's default frame.
  • Length - The length/height of the character's default frame.
  • Gallery images - Gallery images and captions can be added here like this: "Example0000.png|Default frame of example."

Checkboxes

  • Custom palette - If a character does not use the Microsoft Agent default palette (for example in Paint characters), you may check this to add that distinction to the trivia.
  • Microsoft Agent 2.0 character - Check this if a character has a Microsoft Agent 2.0 version.
  • Microsoft Agent 1.5 character - Check this if a character has a Microsoft Agent 1.5 version.
  • Classical Microsoft Agent - Check this if the character was made in 2010 or before.
  • Modern Microsoft Agent - Check this if the character was made after 2010.
  • Pre-Rendered Microsoft Agent - Check if the character is pre-rendered from a 3D model or some other software.

Remarks

Using this tool is heavily recommended even if you do not know some of the character's other information yet, as this tool was created to reduce the amount of blank incomplete pages by at least generating an infobox and some other information about the character. Additionally, if you are uncertain or not sure yet about any of the fields, you may leave them blank and add them later if necessary.

Additionally, for some fields, the ACS Page Creator will try to account missing information. For example, by default, it takes the page title and a string like this: "PAGETITLE is a [[Microsoft Agent]] character by developed DEVNAME." If the DEVNAME field is empty, it will instead try to make the lead longer by mentioning the character version instead, like in this example: "PAGETITLE is a [[Microsoft Agent]] CHARVERSION character." before being followed the appearance field.
